Default LS1 based engine question?

Are our 4.8/5.3/6.0 engines interference or non interference engines?

Description of interference and non interference engines here.

http://www.familycar.com/CarCare/TimingBelt.htm

The LS1 is a vavle mangling, piston smashing, pushrod twisting interference engine AFAIK.

I see! I changed the timing belt on my ford escort beater. Had to drop the engine about 6 inches to get to the crank pulley bolt. Took me 8 hours.

I'm glad our engines don't use them!

Kind of curious what replacement interval for the timing chain would be appropriate for supercharged/turbocharged/N2O applications?
In other words, what safety margin would most feel comfortable with under any of the above conditions for replacement?

A non-interference motor is one in that has HUGE piston to valve clearances. So huge, that with a piston at TDC, you can spin the cam two revolutions and not have any valves hit it.

It would basically be a very low compression, old design motor.
