Default ls1 cam

I have a ls1 cam sitting around, would it be worth swapping this in?, if it is, can I use original lifters and push rods?

From what I've read the ls1 cam is bigger but the ls6 is a better choice.

Just the ls1 cam is nice and free

I put an '00 LS1 cam in, but only because I was already tearing into the engine. Looking at the specs its a leap over the stock 5.3L cam, but not worth untertaking a cam swap, IMO.

The 98-00 LS1 cam is more aggressive than the 01-02. LS1 Info and Specifications - SMOKEmUP.com

Free is free but not really worth the hassle for swapping it out.

Well scratch that. But I did find a ls6 cam. Can I use stock pushrods, and lifters?

Depending on how many miles it has, you may be able to reuse the lifters, but for the pushrods you would want to measure to ensure you have the correct length.

I believe you need longer pushrods with the ls6 cam. Search on LS1tech.
