I'd say try it but you will definitely lose a lot of low end power, that cam is WAY bigger than mine. What the daily driving result will be is that you will need to wind it up a little more when you upshift and you'll probably have to downshift on even slight inclines just to maintain cruising speed. Of course resulting in using more fuel. But if you just want to haul some *** who cares, although you'll probably need to get better pushrods and a tune to be able to use the top end power.

Are you not planning on having this tuned right away? Big mistake, I doubt it will even idle. Even if you crack the throttle blade. You have to, have to, have to get this tuned by a tuner that know WTF their doing to make it live on the street.

Like I said before, it'll be rough, expect some surging and a hard brake pedal. I'd say that cam was designed for a turbo ls1, but the LSA is too close together, but you would need to have an awesome exhaust to take full advantage of it.

so ur saying dont get it?

i do plan on adding headers with this and removing the cats..but if its to big nvm than

but if i get it, get headers and remove my cats, and get it tuned it will be ok? how much more '*** hauling' are we talking about here?

this huge cam, intake, headers with no cats and a dumped muffler...what kind of gains are we talking here? est 1/4 mi times? if im gonna be slower than stock until 4k rpms i dont want it...

You need to ask 01Thunder about cams for the 4.8 liter. He's got a heavily modded 4.8, and running a TR224 cam. He's having to run a huge torque converter, gone thru 9 or so trannys, it idles at like 950-1000 rpms, tuning was a bitch and a half and still has issues with it occassionally. I think the 224 would be the very most cam I would go in a 4.8L, tops.

224 with a 112LSA is the most. Like I said, I have 228 on the exhaust side and I've had my share of tuning issues. Don't expect a mail order tuner to nail a cam that big on the first try. And if you plan on tuning it yourself, plan on it taking some time and frustration.
