The best way is that shift kit ... other than that .. raise your line pressure and/or the positive pressure something. I think it's on that same tab in the top left corner of the page. Lower then a little.

Ihad mine set stock for a long time but with the addition of my bigger cam I was having trouble with hitting the limiter because the trans wouldn't shift so I was assuming I was losing line pressure. I went in and firmed up the shifts the way the LS1 Edit manual sai to do it. Then I went into the desired shift time table and multiplied the table by 50% i think it was. Now the truck shifts much harder and I don't bounce off the limiter anymore. Ohh, and I already had a shift-kit on the medium setting. It just wasn't enough with my new cam.

Here's how it has been explained to me:

The "adaptation time" setting is a target value binned by
load / RPM (or whatever, I don't have my tuner sftwr
open right now). The PCM adjusts line pressure during
shift to "just enough" to make the shift cycle finish in
the allotted time. This is the shift adaptation process.

If you set the times to zero you will force the transmission
to see full line pressure during shifts. This is warned against
(nebulously) in the Edit docs. However the Predator tune
I ran around with for over a year does exactly this if you
push the shift times full negative, and so far I have seen
no ill effects.

If you wanted to be nicer to the hardware, you might
pick a non-zero value that it had a prayer of meeting
at less-than-full line pressure. Like, try 0.2, try 0.1,
where you no longer feel a difference you have hit
the mechanical cycle time limits and more won't help,
so you could back off (more time) from there until
you start to be bothered by shift slowness. If there
is a place where it's acceptably fast, and not making
max pressure necessary, maybe you bought a little
reliability. Or not.

Have yet to hear the confession of someone who
ran 0 adaptation times and had a transmission fail
from it. Your adaptation time goes to zero at WOT
anyway, or should, and that's the worst shift-
under-load you're going to come up against.

Good info!!

Do you think someone would contribute a failure to that setting in the PCM though. My first blame for breaking a tranny would be to much power, or an ill stress level.

Well, that's the question. So far I haven't had any issue from it
and "you'd think" the trans wouldn't have a beef with running
its full mechanical pressure on all shifts if it can take it at WOT.
But would like to hear from "my tranny blew up and my cat got
pregnant after I reset my shift time tables" partisans if any.

I had zero'd out my shifttime table about a year or more ago. Never had any issues. It only got changed recently when I had Allan from Nelson Perf. do the tuning. Most tuners like to leave that part alone so they can't be blamed for tranny failure. I don't blame them
