Default LS1 heads????

I am considering a set of LS1 heads for my 2000 Chevy ex/cab w/4.8 litre. I'm curious if they will flow better than my stockers...

I think it depends on your definition of 'better'. They'll flow MORE, but they'll also lower your compression. Are you planning to go FI?

if you check other threads i believe that It will lower your compression and almost overflow for the 5.3 let alone the 4.8. I do not know of any heads they recomend for the 4.8 though.

If you get the ls1 5.7 heads the valves will be so close to small bore of the 4.8 and 5.3 that you could burn a valve quick, but if you do decide to get them make sure you get the 5.7 head gaskets.
