You have any sound clips with the cam in? I've got a 4.8 in my 2001 and was thinking about putting this cam in over the summer for a little bit, due to the fact it won't cost me too much for now.

That is a lot of cam for a 4.8. You definitely will need a tune and a stall. Can anyone help with the tune?

Oh yea you will!!!!!!! A loss of some low end comes with the territiry with a cam like that. Especially in a motor smaller than an LS1. You lose some low end to gain mid and top end power. Thus where a higher stall verter comes into play. To make up for the loss of low end.

Not trying to hijack, but as stated earlier I've been thinking of this cam for a little while. I know I'd need a tune and have figured that in with the price, but I wouldn't necessarily need a stall unless I wanted to take full advantage of the cam, correct?

I have this cam, and yes it will be a pain (my experience at least) to work with. I need to still iron out a few tuning issues. For the time being, just to get yourself from point A to point B, flip the "set idle screw" on your TB around so you can access it from the top. Then crack the blade open a little bit so your motor can idle better.

I didnt lose any HP or low end torque.. if anything I gained low-end torque. I do have a 3000 stall though.

I had some tuning issues too. I have a nelson tune, and it took a few iterations for him to get the idle issue down. I didn't notice a loss in low or high end. I have a stall though. It has a helluva lot more power all over the rpm range. Its a good bang for the buck cam kit. I think I have a lot of power still left on the table though, because I don't have headers to take advantage of the long exhaust duration.

You might consider a nelson tune, and use edit from there. But dude, come on....20sec 1/4mi....that's terrible, even for Tucson. You shouldn't run that stock, unless your truck is f'd up to begin with. Anyway, good luck!

You need a big *** stall, and some high ratio gears in that beast. Otherwise it'll take forever to hit the sweet spot.
