I just sold my SS but ive got a leftover LS1 intake, im hunting a 5.3 truck now, just wondering if there's any proven rwhp gain from putting an ls1 intake on a 5.3... thanks guys.

Nope, the truck intake is better than the LS1 intake. There are gains to be had from a LS6 intake, but not much even from that.

Small HP gains up top, but loss of TQ down low, which in a truck is actually what we need, so stick with the truck intake till your making big power, or F/I which then it really won't matter anyways, the boost will flow.

an 01' or 02' LS1 intake is much better. i wouldn't expect much gain from the older version.

Yeah, no egr hole, but i still got the ls1 outta my 98 Z28, if you really want it, if i could find a box, i'd get rid of it for 20 bucks plus shipping. They make plates to block off the EGR, that or get creative, and i have seen guys run there wet kit nozzle hidden through it.
