Default LS1 Intake Question

What all is involved to swap an LS1 Intake to a 5.3?? We have a 2001 Silverado. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was just on the verge of doing the ls6 manifold swap, but then i chickened out and figured i'd stay on track.

Heres all thats needed, from my knowledge
-bracket (speartech)
-longer belt (speartech has part number)
-cut the water neck off about 3/4" above the pump and adding a 45* adapter and a short piece of hose
-spacers/bushings and longer bolts

According to what I read on this forum, the swap is generally not worth the effort unless it's an ls6 or late ls1 AND you've done performance mod's (like cam, heads, headers, etc). Seems the truck intake flows as well as the LS1.

Some one on here has the flow number on the three intakes. The truck intake is VERY close to the flow numbers of a ls1 intake.

But to answer your question about the swap, you will need to get an adapter/spacer, available from any number of our sponsors, to fit you injectors in the ls1 intake and you will need to deal with the fuel rail cross over any number of ways. its a straight forward swap, but there is little or no power gains from what Ive read.

Hey GV,

I was under the impression that you have to use the LS1 injectors with the LS1 intake, as the injectors are longer. Is there a way to use the truck injectors in the LS intake? Can you direct me to a source for that info? It would sure save from having to buy 8 new injectors and adapting the LS injector harness plugs.

I have the fuel rail and injectors for the LS1, also have the cam. Would this make it easier and more worthwhile?? The parts are off of a 2001. Therefor making this an LS6 setup..........
