ls1/ls6 intake

Default ls1/ls6 intake

ok so i know you can swap on an ls6 intake manifold onto a truck block, but my question is wouldnt the ls1 fit right up as well seeing as how they are quite the same, only thing i see different is the valley underneath?! would that make the difference, or are the ports on both different as well?!

Yes the LS1 intake will fit on a truck block but the LS1 is inferior to the truck intake flow wise.

The idler pulley might need to be moved.

the truck intake also has better bottom end torque, while the LS6 has better top end horsepower.

yes i saw a thread on it last week, i tried looking for it again but damn i cant find it, it was about the ls6 manifold. but i was wondering if the ls1 would be the same, so what manifold would be best suited other than the regular truck manifold?

The ls1 intake would be downgrading from what you have. The only thing that will net you a gain is the LS6 but that will only gain at high RPM with a lot of mods.
Really the only thing worth the money is aftermarket stuff or just stay with what you have.

ok cool, ive done some searchin on a FAST intake, but just wanted to touch up on this intake situation, i have a buddy with an ls1, but hes switch to new heads, cam, and ls6 manifold so i was wondering if it would be a good idea to scoop up the ls1 manifold. i think i'll stick with mine for now

Good call, as mentioned the LS1 intake is inferior to the truck manifold, and a few members here have done the LS6 intake swap with little to no gain for a lot of work and dough.
