The 216/220 Comp cam is a mild cam for a 5.7.I would go with Comp 918 springs with titanium retainers and the XE-R version of that cam.The truck would be a beast,but totally drivable.

The titanium retainers really went up in price!!!! They got dam expensive!

The titanium retainers are overated IMO. The behive springs have tiny retainers anyway. I twist mine to 6500 with no valve float. I'd go with the 216/220 at least if not bigger. I like a lot of cam. Oh and the stock hp on that motor is 350. 385 sounds about right for the tq.

The lobe on a LS6 is actually larger.To increase lift and duration you can grind materal from the backside reducing the base circle or you can use a bigger lobe like GM did with the LS6 cam.

I can't find the high lift version of that cam on Comp's website ...do you have a grind number for it??

212/218 has a high lift version too.. I believe it is a 212/218 .558/.563 115..
