Default ls1 swap

im swapping my junky 4.8 for a ls1 in my 03 sierra and my truck has a fly by wire throttle body, and i want to swap my intake and everything the way it is, can i run the fbw throttle body?

Yes, your intake will bolt right on to a LS1

and it will be fine to run the fly by wire throttle body?

Your wanting to run DBW on a truck that is already DBW. Think about it.

sorry i didnt mean to offend you with that question, i have yet to see a ls1 with a dbw throttle body, i didnt know if i needed to swap to a cable throttle body off of another intake

your factory ecm will not know the diff when you go to the ls1. just use you intake

i think the corvettes used the dbw when they were ls1's, the later ones anyway

it wont know the difference, but will there be less power gains if i dont have it reflashed?

Your PCM is tuned for a 4.8L so with the 5.7L in there it will still run the engine like a 4.8L. You haven't told the PCM to do anything else so it will continue to think you have a 4.8L. You must have it tuned to recognize the added displacement.

would it be ok to run it thinking its a 4.8 for awhile?
