LS1 swap questions?
Well I'm finally getting around to putting in my LS1 on Labor day weekend. Thats all long as I get all my finally little pieces together by then.
Is there any tips I should know before being this? Will I need to pull the tranny back or out for any reason?
I'm guessing this should be pretty straight forward as in just unbolting the trans, exhaust, wiring harness, and accessories.
Also, does anyone know the proper breakin procedure for new valve springs (918's)?

I would pull the tranny out, make lining up the motor mounts a lot easier. Pull out the radiator and shroud, make sure your harness is out of the way.
Good Luck, wish I had an LS1 or LS6.

First I would disconnect the battery, remove starter then remove the torque converter bolts, that can be the worst part of it for some.Make sure you have the right tool for that.No reason to pull the trans.Write notes for all your ground wires location and # of wires.I like to remove the inner fender panels, its a must do with headers, well a should do anyways. Also, remove the intake so you can get to the top bell bolt and so you can get a chain on it without breaking the intake during removal. You will need a fuel line disconnect tool.

Ahhh....forgot about the fuel line disconnect tool. Thanks
Is there a special tool needed for the torque convertor bolts? I thought they were just hex head bolts?
See this is why I love this place.
Thanks for the help so far.
