LS1 Timing Tuner Good For Momentary N20 Retard?
Here's my delima......I'm running a 150 dry shot on my truck.
Allen at Nelson Performance tuned my truck up, but unfortunately, after we did test runs on the dyno w/nitrous after the tune, he had to detune it back a bunch to pull timing so when I did hit the nitrous, it wouldn't deto.
I lost about 20rwhp because I couldn't take advantage of his tune without deto when on the bottle. He said he could only do the better tuning if I was N/A to be safe.
Yesterday, I ran accross this LS1 Timing Tuner that will supposedly fit our trucks (plug & play).
It goes inline with the crank sensor and has 2 settings on it.
I'm not sure if I understand it correctly, but I think you can have the first setting stock (regular pcm/sensor controlled, the Timing Tuner doesn't really tell the pcm anything).
Then, for the second setting, it says it allows you to hook up a wire to it that when its hot, you can have it advance or retard the timing automatically.
In my case, I could hook a hot wire up from the N20 Silenoid so when I hit the nitrous, it can retard the timing instantaneously however many degrees I need it to.
The cost of this is $289 (Tybrne under the truck section under ignition/computer).
Has anyone used this before, and does it work or would it be a good idea in my situation? Anyone who has one or thought about getting one, please let me know exactly how this thing works.....I cant find the manufacturers website and am unclear about it

But 20 hp N/A would be worth well over $300, IMO!
Surely someone on here has used this!
Any input on this would definitely appreciated.

I was kinda hoping a truck guy might have done it though so I could see if it hooked up easily

guys, bryan herter from pcs for less is building one that goes in line with the ait and is testing it right now....wire it up to the solenoids as a ground and when you hit the squeeze the sensor is tricked and retards the timing.he is going to sell these for around $75-100 depending on response...contact me for more info and i can get in touch with him to see how its going...

This will also require PCM programming though to load the IAT vs Load tables with timing retard though. I am working on the testing on this and have to make sure it is 100% before I could market it.
