One more time.....lol
Some 5.3's come equiped with the 799 heads, which, according to the experts are interchangable with the 243 castings. The L33 is one..

diesiels suck!!! atleast to work on. the 799 and 243s are interchangable. same castings in other words. Look at the heads you have on your truck, and see if they say 243 or 799, its usually on the front corner of the head

Yeah if you can get one out of warranty.... but hell now the cust can pay $100 and get injectors put in, even if it has 150k miles on them. But to each his own, and if you make double what i make, my boss is going to have a big problem come monday morning

They would probably be great heads if you had them milled, get your cr to about 10.5:1 or 10.75:1. Just remember not to re-use your head bolts.

well I am chevy medium duty, fleet , and commission tech. I usually only need 2-4 trucks a week to make 50+ hours . alot of light duty techs hate big trucks, but for me they are alot easier to work on.

the valves in the ls2(243) are bigger than 5.3 heads so that was what I was hoping would make power.

my heads are stamped 862 I think, it was dark. We have a 4.8 in the shop that came from a workhorse and it is stamped 862 also. Is that right? stamp is on the rt head front faceing rt fender? are these heads junk or workable?
