Default LS6 With 215cc Trick flow Heads

Just recently bought an all forged ls6 with trick flow heads to put in my S10.Getting ready to buy a Fast 92mm intake and throttle body, and a 230's/620 cam to go with it.My S10 already has a 5.3 with long tube's,3" exhaust and puts down 380hp to the wheels. My goal is to make 480-500hp to the wheels with the LS6 set up.Wanting to know if its possible to make that much power. If not, what would you reccomend?NA no FI.Any input is greatly appreciated.Mike

you will get very close to 480rwhp depending on how friendly the dyno is and how well your brakes spin freely and overall drivetrain

FWIW member chrs1313 has a heads(TF215 or 225?)24x cam and a 4l60E put down 522 rwhp with some bolt on "tweeks" car ran consistent low 10's and dipped into the 9's all motor with a ls6 bottom end

I also think track times should be more important to you vs a dyno number, but I do believe you'll drop a full second off your 1/4 time traction permitting

also his converter was locked on the dyno with a yank ss4000 converter, this is not recommended due to the small lockup clutch disc inside the converter...his did not slip but could on anything less then a fully/correctly built transmission

Thanks for the input silersz28camaro.480hp would be great! I have a built 60e with a Yank sst3600 stall and I still have the 100 shot in case of emergencies!!Lol

What kinda 1/4 times have you been getting with the truck as is now?

I recently put together a ls1 motor in a Camaro.

before was a 12.4 @ 110 stock bolt-on LS1 camaro 6 speed

after was a 11.56 @ 117 with my ported ls6 heads and a ls6 cam...car idles like stock but picked up some great time obviously just from the ls6 top end.

By all means go TF heads and 230 cam, but just showing you that big gains with mild setup is bare minimum from what you may see

Did you get the cam? If so and you don't want it I'd be interested...

It has an A&A blower 2 cam in it right now.I think the specs are around 230's duration and 590's lift on a 114 lobe seperation.

I'm also thinking about miling the heads 0.30 to get around 59-60cc for more compression

As long as you flycut you should be ok with that...figure in you dynamic compression also if your wanting to stay pump gas friendly, but at 60cc chambers and that cam you should be fine...
