I've heard that the '01 LS6 cam will work great on an LS1-based truck, especially with forced induction. What do you guys think?

 

I have heard the same.....it likes to be spun pretty high and I hear its great for boost. A friend of mine is planning on taking his g5x2 out of his WS6 and putting in the 02 LS6 cam with a turbo setup. Should be a good combo..

 

I had the '02 LS6 cam in my 5.3 with the whipple. It pulled hard above 3500 rpm! Below that it was not very usefull. I've heard they are better with a 6.0.

 

Is this true even without the forced induction? I was considering the swap my self but not if I loose the low end grunt I need to get my truck going. I dont need to turn it sky high. Mine is a 5.3 going into my non emission 68 pickup

A guy at B&R Performance told me yesterday that the '01 LS6 cam has just a hair more duration on the exhaust than the other years, which is exactly what you need with forced induction. Supposedly the low-end doesn't just drop out on you.
