What is up with camshaft numbers It seems no one has the same numbers listed. For example,
-2001-2002 LS6....204/211 .525/.525 116
Part # 12560950
Now type that part number into SDPC Chevrolet's site and it comes up with an LS6 cam with numbers -- Chevy LS6, 207/217 Duration @ 0.050, Hydraulic Roller Camshaft WTF! can we just doctor every single cam to be absolutely sure!
okay done venting

gamedawgx53 Not your fault man. I could look up that same cam on five sites and probably get five different specs. It just seems like no one (even an author of an LS1 engine book) knows FOR SURE what the real specs. are

Default Re: ls6 cam in my truck.

now i am really torn (mainly because I am deciding which one of these cams will be going into my truck in about two months)
Scoogin Dickey Chevrolet And GMpartsdirect.com both say the '01 LS6 cam is 207/217 .525/.525 116lsa

I have also read that the '02 LS6 cam has 2* retard ground into the cam, which moves the power band up i the rpm range. As stated on Scoogin Dickey's site the '02 LS6 power band is from 2000-6200rpm versus the '01 LS6 cam that is stated idle-4500rpm.

***either way Sharkg, the '02 LS6 cam has approx. 0.050" smaller base circles than other LS_ engines. You would need to do 0.050" longer pushrods to make up for this. But ya it will work
