Re: ls6 cam in my truck.
I have Many thoughts about the differences of these two cams, but Matt I would like to know why you think '02 over '01 cam?..just for new ideas sake
EDIT: Thank you whiteZ71 for that link. I would agree that the design engineer of the cams knows what the cam specs are I now believe what they have listed at Scoogin Dickey Chevrolet and GMpartsdirect.com to be incorrect and headache-causing information that they need to fix.

Re: ls6 cam in my truck.
I've always heard that the 01 is a better choice for our trucks and there's a good reason for that. The 01 has a ls of 116 and the 02 is 117.5. I still run the 01 ls6 cam in my truck. It's one of the best mods I've done. It made over 30 hp to the rear wheels.

Has any body seen this comp cam. Looks like it would be another good cam. According to comp it is a replacement for the LS6 cam.

Re: ls6 cam in my truck.
You can find it on the Comp Web site or you can call any of the sponsors who order cams from Comp. I ordered my custom grind from Trevor at Texas Speed and Performance.

Re: ls6 cam in my truck.
Shark-FYI I put the 02 LS6 cam in my whipple charged 6.0 and it didn't pick up at all. That was with no tuning. It only ran for a few days so I didn't have a lot of seat time but now I have it back together WITH tuning, now with ported heads too, and I gained 23 horsepower total. So results may vary but when, not if, I do it again I will go with one of the Comp cams. But here's a fictitous example of my luck: I could remove a nitrous kit from someones truck at the track immediatley after it reduced his times by a full second, put it on my truck and would do good to see 2 tenths! My advice is try it if it is cheap enough, but if you have the $$ go with an aftermarket cam.
