Default LS6 intake?

Is this a worthy upgrade, from a 99 5.3 intake to a LS6 intake?

Actually yes it does have proven gains for us truck guys, it's about the same as the FAST 78mm intake. If you do a search on here you will see several guys who've had success running this intake.

The loss of torque issue is only down low... which will be made up for with a converter. Now that converter should be specifically matched to the cam you will be running. And that cam should have a 'higher' power band to make use of the LS6 intake.

Now if you just want to slap this intake on a stock motor forget about it but if your cammed and stalled go for it. The gain up top will be great for the cheap price of a used LS6.

Well you'll actually see your gains prior to the 6200 mark. I know that the stock truck intake drops off at approx 5550, the LS6 will keep you pulling through that RPM range w/o losing the power the stocker loses.

Dude, lose the attitude... this site is here for available help to all it's members. That's great that you're in the 11s, instead of being a dick about it share your experiences with the rest of the guys. They'd appreciate it alot more than negativity.

I was thinkin about doin the same thing.. Not sure but my cam should perform well.. It a 224/224 .581/.581 114lsa i think it makes power up like 6500 or somethin like that.... Anyways.. I've heard the same thing about the LS6 Intake... If you take the RPM's up that high with a cam and converter... I wouldn't hurt..

yah if your stock and don't plan on spinning it past 6200, it isn't worth doing, but as stated if you have any mods, cam stall, then the 6 intake will take advantage of them..

Default lexdexick ! (Dislexik)

I found an LS6 intake here around home for 100$. It came with the fuel injectors witch would have been great but doesn't use the same plug as my injectors. Plus it looks like I'll have to fabricate something about my acc. cable and the clearance issue with the water pump.
Thanks for all of the info. guys. LS1tech is a life saver.
