Default ls6 intake results

finished the intake up saturday morning

took it out for a little quick tuning that night
suprisingly the tuning was real close
close enough that I didnt even have to change the VE table

afr was hitting dead on 12.9 from off Idle to approx 5000 where it only dipped to 12.5 after

Sunday...
headed out to the track

anyways heres the results...

first, full bolton head cam LQ9 with truck intake rcsb

60 - 1.95 leaving at full stall... dead hook
330 -5.46
1/8 - 8.39 at 83.18mph
1/4 13.15 at 103.07
30* timing no knock
notes
shifting at 6300
shifting higher netted slower times

after LS6 intake swap...

60- 1.8667 leaving off idle ....was the only way it would hook
330- 5.27
1/8- 8.12 at 85.85
1/4- 12.76 at 105.46
notes
28* timing and showed about 4* KR on the big end
shifting at 6500
I think there may be another tenth or 2 in the tuning
and maybe some more if I could get the traction to pick up my short times

all in all I would have to say I didnt get what I was expecting but
Im always expecting too much...but arent we all?
I would also like to add that the part throttle lowend is alot better than before
Driving up the interstate locked up in OD was miserable before
now its not near as bad

that is a hell of a pick up from the intake. Do you have any pics?

I really think its got a 12.50 or better as she sits with better track prep and tweaking

time for a 100 shot and go straight to the 11's

rgv...
agreed

chris...
nice sig
string trailing? .....LMAO

100 shot ..... I doubt it
I still got a couple of cards left to play

tuning aint dead on
I really think my timing could use some work
as well as the shift points

I wish I would have had more time to get it dead on

looks like a damn good gain, but there are variables as always. was that time with the truck intake the best run u ever had with that setup?

Already expecting 11s?
Dude, those results are awesome.
Get that thing tweaked and you'll easily pull off 12.60s.
Do you still have plans to hit the dyno?
I bet you could of shifted out past 6500 last night. Maybe 6800?

I think those are some great gains. I'd love to see a dyno graph with the intake to prove once and for all that the lowend loss is not what people think it is.

When people ask about the truck intake from now on, and the canned response is "It's fine for a truck, you don't want to loose all your lowend." We can direct them to your two (and some more that are coming) threads.

Nice work guys.

Dude you knocked almost .4 off your 1/4 mile. Thats HUGE!!

I'm doing it just to tip the scales more to HP then torque. Your results make me quite happy I bought it either way .

Yes those are my 2 bests, 60s et's mph and all
truck intake vs ls6 intake

I still plan on hitting the dyno when I get some more time to get everything
dead on
I tried shifting at 6800 right after that best run and 12.89 was the result
It was getting a little rich up that high so maybe leaning it out some more would help

another thing I noticed in the logs was the MAF readings g/cyl
I was showing low 40s before now its high 40s low 50s

Tdrumm,
LOL Ive heard that so many times
I just wonder where they are getting their info from
Is it all assumption and here say?

Looking at the cutaway pic Bigtex posted up and down the plenum
of the LS6 told me alot

I think a 90mm like the ls2 or fast wouldve worked even better.
Hopefully mattrem will step his up and put down some good #s /times
