Depends on what lobe(s) the cam has. "softer" lobes are more rounded and aren't so aggressive. The valve is off its seat longer (you can tell by looking at the total duration) and these camshafts usually are gentler on valvetrains. Now step into the world of COMP XER lobes (such as what tex speed offers) These lobes are the most aggessive hyd roller lobes that comp offers today, they provide more power under the curve, smoother idling, better power curves but at a cost. The cost is you need to run a more stable valvetrain, live with the valvetrain noise and expect 50K miles or so out of the springs before they're shot. If you're referencing the vinci cam with the specs above, I wouldn't be afraid to run the yellow springs.
