I guess that a different length pushrod wouldn't make any difference huh...I'm thinking that the LS7 rocker may be longer from the fulcrum to the tip? Pics would be cool if possible...

Or it might be shorter from the pushrod side to the fulcrum, thats how most higher ratio rockers increase the ratio.

This is why you have to drill out the pushrod holes on the iron L31 Vortec 350 heads when going from 1.5:1 rockers to 1.6:1 rockers or the pushrod will rub on the head.

stock on the right 1.8 on the left

it looks to me that they are the same from the fulcrum to the pushrod, but longer from the tip to the fulcrum.

Its hard to see in the pic but this is the valve stems, the arrrow is were the shiny spot was.

only solution i could think of was possible taking the rocker stand & milling it down shorter. (would also require shorter pushrods i assume) But i dont know if that would work or might. What are your guys thoughts?

How much was this costing you compared to going to a set of Crane or Comp 1.8s that didn't require any special milling? Just curious. Milling the rocker stand may cause a geometry issue and maybe even cause binding. Personally, I'm no so sure I'd feel too good about pioneering this mod. I'm not smart enough on the implications of changes any milling/shimming, or whatever is needed would cause. I'm sure someone will figure it all out though.

I don't see a problem with the new rockers. Someone correct me if you think I'm wrong, but as long as the rocker (when fully torqued down) sweeps across the entire top of the valve, it should be ok. My roller rockers on my big block chevy sweep back and forth across the top of the valve and this is normal action. With the extended travel of the 1.8 rocker ratio, it may need to sweep further back and forth across the top of the valve stem. I reillustrated your picture to show what I mean. if the full sweep remains inbetween the red lines, I would run it. If it goes where I painted it black, it'll need to have modification to the installed height along with a different length pushrod.

From the pics, it looks like the LS7 rocker is contacting right outside the red lines illustrated, not the center of the valve, but the edge.

correct, its only hitting the outer edge of the valve, not the center.
