so this is more like an LS2 with LS7 intake then? Bad *** as hell, but not a true "LS7" motor.

It's a LS2 block resleeved (same block the LS7 starts out as also) for strengh and bored to the 4.125" bore. Then it had billet mains and ARP studs added, line bored and decked. This was done to make it stronger than GM's LS7 production block. The crank is a 4" stroke just like the LS7, just better and lighter. The heads are ETP's duplication of the LS7 head with smaller combustion chambers, just better valves, rocker arms, springs and etc. and flow better. Better cam, lifters, rods, pistons, timing chain and gear set. It's a LS7, just a better version less dry sump.

If you bought a new Z06/LS7 Corvette and installed these good parts wouldn't it still be a LS7?

That thing is wicked, absolutely wicked. That's what I was wanting to do to my truck...but I see I've been beaten to the punch. Guess I'll just have to stroke one out to a 496 lol.
