Default Ls9 cam swap woes!

I am currently swapping a 6.0 into my OBS. I am in the process of building the motor itself. I hit a brick wall (sure there will be a few more) but for now I am stuck on the LS9 Cam.

I ordered the following as I found thru research

LS9 Cam - 12638427 - $97.93
LS2 Timing Cover Kit (includes cover, sensor, bolts, gaskets, etc) - PK12600325 - $123.60
LS2 3 bolt 4x cam sprocket - 12586481 - $14.62

I swapped out cams and the following parts with an ls2 timing chain.

I got the CAM sensor Part number 12596851
The cam sensor feels loose when I put in into the front of the timing cover(shouldnt it be a snug with out tightening it down?). I went over to GM dealership with the VIN from 2011 ZR1 with and LS9 for a cam sensor (part number 1259685) they looked completely different. Once I bought it $68 it was mine to keep not even return for store credit) so I held off. The that cam sensor. SO I NEED THE CORRECT part number for the CAM sensor that will work with the kit. I will attempt to contact GMPARTSdirect.com (only thru e-mail) about my situation. ANY help would be awesome!

ALSO have a CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR part# 10485432 that just does not work at all. What is the correct one?

Just pissed money out the door. I ordered a decent amount of parts at one time kinda of lost track.

***I did some research and all I could find in an 6.2L the cam sensor was plugged....but with what? Does it apply to me? Can someone get me the correct part numbers? or in touch with someone who has done this before?

You would need the LS2 cam sensor I believe. Is that what you got?

^^I second this. I show a part number (12591720) for an LS2 sensor.

That sensor never came with the kit. It was thru GMpartsdirect.com
The only way to communicate with them is thru e-mail which is just as painful as sticking needles in my urethra.

Just bit the bullet and ordered the sensor thru these guys

2002-2012 LS2 LS3 LS7 LS9 Camshaft Cam Shaft Postion Sensor Corvette Camaro GTO | eBay

cheaper b/c of free shipping AND THEY HAVE A RETURN POLICY and human beings to talk to.

I have saved enough money ordering thru the internet vs the stealership, time to pony up.

Thanks for your help!

XOXOX

TSP rocks!
Just out of curiousity...why does your deluxe engine gasket kit not include the OIL PAN GASKET, REAR MAIN SEAL and Gakset?

Doing a little bit more then just a cam swap. I pray for boost but we shall see this is costing me a lot more then I thought. Thanks and will do!

You guys are awesome, I ordered my Deluxe Kit and Push Rods from you.

But why (out of curiosity) in the DELUXE Engine Kit you guys do not include the Oil Pan Gasket, Rear Main Seal, and Rear Gasket?

We do not sell near as many complete gasket kits as heads/camshaft swap gasket kits, so that is why it is setup that way.
