Default Made it back to the track with good results.

Well guy,s I got to run the truck again tonight but the weather was terrible. It was about 85 and very humid and the track was full of ricers driving through the water.
I made four runs and the first 2 were junk because i spun the tires so I just rolled down easy.
The next run I let it cool down and pulled the filter and it ran a 15.1 @ 90 mph. This was the first time it ran over 88.7 mph so I was happy to see that. The 60 was off to with only a 2.39.
The next run I let it cool down real good and then it went a 14.91 @ 91.5 mph. the 60 was a 2.30 and last week I went a 2.23 so I think that next time out I will Ice the intake and remove the spare tire and I know it will go a 14.7 and MAYBE a 14.6 @92.
This is a bone stock 04 rclb with a 5.3 /373. The truck is dead stock and I think that when I get it tuned with a cat back and a cai it will run 14.0 to 14.3.
I told all the ford boys= Not bad for a work truck huh.LOL

good times for a "work truck" lol.

You'll be in mid 14's easy with some weight reduction and better conditions. Than a tune with exhaust and cai you will probably break into the low 14's. Good luck man

I can believe it.

With my air filter removed and some way to raise my rev limiter so I can hold 2nd through the 1/4mile I'd be damn close to a 15.0 in my 4.8L RCSB (15.29@90.5mph 2.30 60' slippin' into 3rd right before the line) basically stock and your truck is newer with less miles and has the 5.3L.

Congrats!! Now start modding that thing..

That really pisses me off all my mods and a stock truck is beating me. Ohh well guess I just need to throw some more money at it. BTW those are badass stock times you have a good platform to start modding if I had to guess with a nelson tune CAI and a muffler you will be in the 13's. Heat those tires up really good and you might have better traction even with my stall I can still gete traction when I heat them up and on a well prepped track now the street is a different story.

Thanks guys. Im happy with what it runs but I know it will run better. I still think it will go a14.7 in the heat. When i ran the 14.91 my 60 was almost .10 off from the week before when it went 15.0 so that alone should get me my 14.7.
I bought this truck for work so I got the long bed but now that I have raced it I wish I got the shortbed.

Next time I go to the track I will mess with tire pressure,Remove the intake cover and ice down the intake and I switched to mobil 1.
Will it go 14.6??????????

We will find out.

It'll be close.. with good conditions you can get it probably. Take off your passenger head light too.. give it a little more air. Idk how much that helps with the stock air box.. but it couldnt hurt.

Keep us posted on what you run
