You can actually buy a fancy billet maf/filter assembly that fits right onto the front of the tbody. These are made by www.StreetandPerformance.com and are intended for use on LS1 swapped vehicles. They look pretty cool.

I've been meaning to do this since I put on my custom air tube but never got around to it.

Thanks for the link Tony!

If the S&P LS1 unit is anything like their LT1 setup, it's more of a bling thing for street rods and trailer queens. It's all metal and slips over the throttle body and is held in place with a couple of set screws! There's no seal so I'm thinking, "what about all the damn dirt???"

Here's what we use on our shop setups. No bling factor but at least it's sealed!
Instead of the little K&N you could put your elbow on there and go over to a cool air area with a big K&N.

I might go by Home Depot and pick up some parts and try this tommorow, if I have some time. One question, do you guys think e-fans are need because of intake tubing clearance issues?

Hey Speartech that is just what I'm looking for. What size is that rubber piece that connects the MAF to the TB and is it a plumbing connector?

Hey CashDude! Try that rubber fitting that was on the DJ intake tube I sold back to ya, it fits the TB. I was playing around with this same idea one day and slipped it over the TB, the MAF wires weren't long enough and I didn't feel like messing with it any more.

BAD ***! I have that connector right here. I don't know about the wires though. I read once that you can untangle them and they will eventually reach over there without cutting. Thanks for the tip!!!

Couldn't you run that setup with an HKS filter and possibly clear the stock fan shroud?
