Magnaflow #12568, 2.5" dual in/out, internal x-pipe, how loud?
How loud would this be with my current exhaust set-up? I need it as quiet as possible. If anybody has another muffler that is quieter and straight-through, please let me know.
Here is my current true-dual set-up:
-LaPole Midlength Headers
-Stock Cats
-Magnaflow x-pipe
-Dyno-max Bullets
-Exhaust piping run out the back with 4"x22" chrome tips
I talked to Richard (oxidizer) at magnaflow today and this is the muffler he recommended.
Also, would putting the bullets in front of the new muffler help quiet it down?
We have a new bullshit law in the city I live, the exhaust can't be heard more than 25ft away. THat's pretty much impossible, but whatever. I know my ******* neighbor is just waiting for this law to go into effect. I've got 2 weeks to come up with something. The fines are $100-$500.

I actually just installed part # 12599, which is the same body as the one you are looking at, but it is dual 3". I had dumped. I like the way it sounds, not to loud, just enough to give it a rumble. It is pretty quite down the freeway also.

Thanks for the info guys, please keep it coming.
I've already got cut-outs in front of the cats. Plan on getting the QTP electric cut-outs later down the road.
I'm hoping it'll sound almost stock until I put my foot in it. I work midnights and need it as quiet as possible due to a**hole neighbor(s).
I was wondering if the bullets would actually help to make it more quiet or cause turbulence and mess it up.

I have the 14468 magnaflow muffler on my set up and it is loud, but it dumped before the axle.
I would get that the exact muffler. The 5" x 11" x 22" case is pretty much the biggest magnaflow you can buy and will really quiet things down. To be honest, I would run the exhaust with out the bullets first, and see how loud it is. That muffler is probably going to be really quiet.

Just got the muffler in the mail. It's huge! Very nice design and well made. I'm actually excited to get it put on in the morning. I still don't know if I should put the bullets in front of it or not though....
