Default Magnaflow

Alright, i'm about to order a muffler to replace my flowmaster setup. I'm to the point now to where the flowmaster is getting old in sound, too loud, and from what i read, power robbing (or lack of freeing up power). i'm looking to quiet the truck down some. The flowmasters had turndowns right after the mufflers just before the axle. With the magnaflow i'm wanting to come out with both pipes and over the axle and dump there to get it away from the cab. My goal is to have a very low cab resonance/sound at ide, cruise, and normal light acceleration take off. But when put in WOT don't want to sound like a *****.

Now i'm stuck between which magnaflow - the

12599

and the

12469

The 12599 has a "Tru-X Perforated Core." Is this similar to an x pipe in the system. Would this produce more power (in theory) than the shorter 12469 that doesn't have this feature. The 12599 is longer so it should be more quiet right. But with it dumped over the axle would it be too quiet (factory sound). You think there will be a sound difference between the two mufflers?

Am i reading too much into it? I just like to be educated before buying ****.

Thanks
Jones

i voted 12599 because your going for a no drone type system. you should be able to hear it when you mash into it. the 2 mufflers will probably have the same kind of tone, but the shorter should be louder.

check into hooker aerochambers too. alot of guys are running this muffler without cats and love the sound and say theres no resonance. its also straight through design.

Either one would be a wise choice. The larger muff is going to be a bit quieter, but not by too much. It depends on how loud you want your exhaust to sound.

12599 **** muff = quieter.
12469 muff = a little louder.
