Magnaflow Exhaust Drone....Serious DRONE!
Yesterday I installed true duals 2.5 pipe and two 5x8x24 Magnaflow mufflers which are very quiet until 1800-2300 RPM range and the drone is unreal, almost like straight pipes. Ive used Magnaflow mufflers on every car/truck ive owned and this is the first drone problem for me.
Searching the net the possible fixes are...adding weights to the exhaust, installing braided flex pipes, x pipe, venturis, or glass packs.
So with that said what has worked for you guys in getting rid of the dreaded Magnaflow drone?

First of all, it looks to me like the pipes are too close to the body. I had drone with my magnaflow until I lowered the tailpipe about 2 inches. It was almost up against my box so I got an adjustable hangar grommet. Problem solved $2 later.

That sucks, i didnt think there was much drone with magnaflows,
Im wandering out loud here,
At Work we have our piping we install insulated to keep heat/cool losses at a min and also help with sound reduction.
So wander if you wraped your exhaust if it would help with drone?
I like hirdlej's idea and would try it first though!

Its hard to run any exhaust with the suspension setup on the full size SUVs, in order to run a right/left exit the driver side pipe will always hit the axle when hoping curbs, hitting speed bumps or any off roading. Real tight space to run both pipes out the passenger side, cant exit in front of the rear tire due to the frame and lower trailing arm. Not sure how it would sound dumped. Wish I would have got the CC Silverado instead.

Install a set of magnaflow resonators before the mufflers. It will solve it I had to do this with my cammed 6.0 to make it driveable. It has drone so bad before I did the mentioned mod it would literally rattle change in the ash tray and cup holder going down the road.

I put a 14" glass pack in front of the Hooker Max-Flow on my Avalanche. It helped some with the drone (1600-1900 in mine) but not enough to suit me so I doubt it would help the OP. I've got a full 3" setup all the way back and exit pointed down/back at the rear. I'm either going to a new muffler or trying a 36" glass pack to replace the 14". I've got 4.10s, 31" tall tires, and the drone is worst at 60-65 mph with the converter locked up in OD. That just happens to be the most common speed for my commute. It's currently still bad enough that it starts to give me a headache by the time I get to work or home.
