I am getting my exhaust redone this weekend or next. this is going in my truck (see sig). I am replacing my flowmaster with some Magnaflows, I am currently looking at dual 2.5" muffler (11226, 4x9 oval, 14" body length). This is my hauling truck, not a high performance truck, any recommendation will be considered as long as they are Magnaflows (I am dead set on Magnaflows). Would there be any benefits if I went to the 5x8 oval mufflers, what about the dual in/dual out muffler?

Moregrip, I looked through your 18 page post on your exhaust, someone asked if you knew the part # for your exhaust but you did not know at the time, do you know now?

A tune will be next paycheck, maybe.

So are you using tailpipes also? You should be able to use mufflers or a big dual inlet muffler with 3" inlet on your 2500. I think it will have 2.75" pipes before the muffler. Are you going with duals tails, side exit, etc.?

I am going with dual side exit, both on the same side. Yeah I have dual 2.75" going into the mufflers (same place where the OE muffler is). Another option I have thought about is the dual 2.5" inlet/ dual 2.5" outlet, but really not for sure.

Do you want to use 3" piping, or just 2.5"? The 2.5" will probably be adequate, but I prefer the 3". It may not be necessary for your truck unless you are planning to modify and tune it more. You can get the dual in/dual out muffler in both a 5X8 oval and a 5X11 oval. The bigger muffler will be more quiet.

I am not too much worried about the inlet diameter size because the muffler place that put my flowmasters on used 2.25" inlet/outlet mufflers and they just expanded the inlet to fit the factory pipes. I think the tail pipes are 2.25 but not for sure, its been 5 years since the flows where installed.

They can expand it, but the internal part of the muffler is still small. I wouldn't use anything less than 2.5" or you are not gaining anything.

well if your interested in running the mufflers I'm running ( which I still don't know the part numbers too ), but thats no big deal, all I need to do is measure the case and the rest would just be running whatever configuration of that case size you needed to route your system.

Yeah your right about the Magnaflow about the inside diameter that is why I am looking at 2.5" muffler(s), I don't think there is a need to step up to a 3 in. because the only mod I will do in the future is install an LQ9, and maybe some headers. I don't have plans for a cam since this is my towing truck. Stepping up to a 3" exhaust will cause me to loose some bottom end.

I like your system and the way it sounds but 3 mufflers seems to be a little overkill for a stock 6.0L. I am thinking of dual 2.5" mufflers but starting to lean towards a single dual 2.5" inlet/ dual outlet configuration.

I got a price over the phone for 2 2.5" Magnaflows, dual 2.5" tail pipe, and reusing my tips, the muffler shop wanted $450, I paid $240 for my flowmaster setup.

This is a dual 2.5" H-pipe setup from a local shop in BR, LA. The mufflers are two Magnaflow 11226 models. They ran $80 each. Between that & piping, labor was cheap. I'm using stock manifolds until I can get some custom made headers (fitment issues). I've got an N/A 5.3, and these are pretty quiet, mellow mufflers (until WOT ).
