Default Making up AN fittings, lines, and other plumbing

I was thinking today, if I were to make up some lines for a Tranny cooler or make some trans lines, fuel lines, oil cooler lines, and anything else, I would first ask myself, What size and type of fitting and lines do I need?
I am not one of those people that can just look at a threaded plug and know what size it is. I can do it with most bolts, because I work with them a lot ( only standard sizes tho).

So my question to all of you that know what type and size fittings are on our trucks, could you tell us what we need for info? Like if we were to make up an trans cooler, what size fittings are needed, like in the pan, and at the radiator. And what adapters and size hose would be needed.

like this( I know these are not right, and custom coolers and parts would have the fitting info on them).
-8 AN Male at the oil pan
1/ 2 in. Hose Barb Fittings at the radiator
3/ 8 in. NPT Female at the cooler

I think if we could get enough info here it would be a great reference tool

transmission lines - 3/8"
engine cooler lines - 1/2"

the fitting are the e-clips style but don't know the thread size. I do know the transmission line threads on the tranny it self are not a npt thread, cracked a case trying to install a npt thread in there.

I did a write up on installing a tranny cooler and engine oil cooler a while back. Here is the link https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...t=cooler+lines

I was looking around on the web and it looks like the Trans fitting in the radiator is a 16mm x 1.5 O-ring male, that would screw into the Radiator. And the Oil fitting is a 14mm x 1.5 that screws into the Rad also.

Can someone verify this

Good info if correct
