Default mass air flow sensor

Well i think my maf jus crapped out on me n i was wondering weathr to go back with oem or aftermarket. i have a 2000 gmc with a 5.3 n i do plan on getting it modded

Definitely OEM, the aftermarket "performance" MAF's create more problems than anything. As far as aftermarket OEM replacement goes, I'm not sure if there's any good manufacturers of those.

You can get them on ebay for like 35 bucks.

now what about a larger maf? A member is selling a halltech 4" maf and I was thinking of buying it so it would mate better to the 90mm throtle body

Everything that I've read about the aftermarket MAF's has been negative, creating false lean issues, tuning problems, etc. I'm not familiar with Halltech, so I can't comment on them in particular. I'd do a little research before I bought it though.
