Default Massaging the 5.3L

I want to build up a decent 5.3L to eventually use a supercharger but would like around 350-400 hp normally aspirated at the crank. Head work, forged rods, cam, etc. Any suggestions?!? Thanks.

If you build it to make power NA, it will take more compression. Compression is the enemy of forced induction. Build it now for one or the other.

Is it possible to get around 400hp NA without killing the daily usage or the motor? Thanks for the reply! <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />

400 net is easy to get to. Bolt ons like: long tube headers, pullies, cold air, electric fans, high flow MAF meter, ported TB, cat back, and a programmer of some sort would probably get you close to that. I think you would make about 325rwhp like that.

Head work and cam would get you close to 375rwhp due to the smaller displacement than an LS1.

Just stick with a mild cam like: 212/218 or 214/220 on a 114lsa and you would be good to go for drivability.
