I personallyhave not seen any. the highest I have seen is around 340hp. If you did do it it would be a huge cam with some bad *** heads. It's jsut cheaper to switch engine then go through all that work and get the same thing. Now we have seen some 6.0 making upwards of 400rwhp with a good sized cam, tune and a few other things.

A fully built high compression motor with a wicked cam may just make that number. But it won't be a daily driver, and running 100+ octane fuel won't be cheap.

Car craft made 450 (flywheel) with heads, intake, cam, headers, so I'm thinking it's possibly to get to 400rwhp, but it won't be that streetable I wouldn't think, like daily driver status. It's possible, even more if you bore it .030 over and drop in a 4" crank (385 ci or so) then no problem just my .02

Look at my signature for a possibility, Flamed Chevelle you would need to bore like I did for the 383 sizing ( 0.125", it can take it ).
I have not dynoed the beast yet but thinking high 300's at the wheels. If you were to go with some high flow heads and big cam on a build like mine you could easily achieve the power numbers you are thinking of.

Stock bottom end, full bolt on, head/cam packaged 346's are making right near 500rwhp (some making a few over). I don't see why a 325 can't make 400.

Ive found a guy who used to work nascar, im having him build up my drivetrain 3000 stall trans go etc going in next week. luckily he also works as a mechanic for a local gmc dealership and told me about a manufacturer notice on one of the tranny parts in the 4l60e is weak (i forget the part) they havent done a recall but if it breaks they will fix Ill post documentation on it from gm later. He's going to go ahead and trade out the old part for the new one free.
As far as heads says he has access to Nascar parts off used engines they only race them one time and then junk a perfectly good motor. It was an interesting idea, supposedly they take into consideration power and mileage, fuel economy is fine with me. shouldnt have a problem with 400 hp we'll see

Lets hear some numbers on the 5.3 with the setup.

With my current weight and 1/4 time, I feel that I should be somewhere in that area. I really need to strap her down to find out.
