i'm almost done putting together a 6.2 for my truck but before the 5.3 gets pulled out i kinda want to push it further to see how it runs. I have a nitrous system i wanna run with a 100 shot. On top of that i would like to install the ls6 cam i have put away along with the yellow springs, some rocker arms, and the tbs intake. I dont plan on spending much cause i have had these parts just there and wanna put them to use. my question is though. recently i noticed i have a broken bolt on the back of the head where the header bolts on. since i'm gonna have to pull the head off i was thinking of getting some head work done. but i know nothing about it!? Where do i start and what do yall recommend? also for those running a similiar set up what do yall run in the 1/4? just out of curiousity.

The head bolt is a regular issue on the 5.3. Did it break the driver side last one in back? Heads usually port & polish or bigger valves with heavier duty springs, depending on cam. I did a good bit of work on my engine and I ran a best 13.686 1/4 mile

I just went ahead and got a set of heads pre assembled & cam that Patriot offered, the intake valve is 2.02" and the exhaust is 1.57". The truck is extended cab short bed when I started it ran between 16.25 -16.50 seconds in the quarter mile now it's between 13.68 -13.75 at around 98 mph. My 2010 Camaro with the L99 and auto trans runs 13.74 at around 102 -103 mph stock.

You should run a bigger shot, like 200. And see how she runs
