Mileage question? New cluster.
I put a Denali cluster in my truck a few months ago. My dumb *** neglected to go have my mileage transferred. If I take my old cluster to have it changed, will they add what is on my current cluster and put it on my old one? Mileage will equal out to be like 87,245 miles. I need some help here guys!!

Before I traded my truck in I had to send my stock cluster off to add mileage, don't even ask why,and it was actually easier than I thought it would be.They(Chevy Dealership) just asked how many miles you want on it and sent it off.It would probably be a defferent story if you were taking them off though.

If you get a new cluster say the Escalade one what if you dont pay the $100.00 to get your mileage transfered? When you install it it just starts at zero? Is there another way to do so without paying the $100.00! When i get mine Im gonna pay for it to be done but say I sell my truck and didnt ever get the miles transfered even though it hell of illegal you could screw some idiot like that! Thats crazy you figure they would have it the only way you can get away without having them do the transfer is if you could prove its for a new engine!!!!
Thats crazy to me! Godd luck with finding a fix for your problem man!!! How do your like the cluster? Did you mainly get it for the tranny readings????

So, let me get this straight. The Denali/Escalade cluster is a direct plug in deal, all you have to do is reset you mileage, right? The pcm already sees trans temp, but in the regular truck it's just the gauge that's not there, right?

tiger - I agree, I think its crazy that they can sell a cluster that resets you mileage.....I had no idea about this before I started looking into them and I'm sure ALOT of people dont know.....so it would be easy to screw someone over and I'm sure its happened before. Unless it was say a 99 with 150 miles on it or something...
