69project if you are located anywhere near texas get a nelson tune so if you want to you can get him to street tune it which will be a better tune than just a mailed tune. Get CAI exhaust and a tune and its hsould bring you up to the mileage that you want.

Thanks in advance.
The 1500HD has the rear suspension from the 2500 HD series and the front suspension from the 1500/2500 series. The plain 2500 is what the 1500HD is based on with the 8 lug wheels.

The rear axle in the 1500HD is a semi floating 9.5" 14 bolt and in the 2500HD is a full floating 10.5" 14 bolt. The frame in the 2500HD is a little different as well. The 1500HD frame narrows from 8" down to 5" over the rear axle. The 1500HD is rated at 8600 lbs and the 2500HD is rated at 9200lbs and the towing capacity is higher as well.

I saw 12.5 mpg over the winter and will see 13.5 to 14 over the summer with a highway average near 16 mpg. Towing a 5500 lb bumper pull trailer I get 9-10 mpg.

HUGE clutch fan. hehe.

i have a std cab 2wd LS. beating the heck out of it, i get just under 12. driving normal, 12.5-12.9. being very easy on the foot, i got 14 even.
the truck is bone stock. i plane to do some things mentioned to help with the milage. my old 1500 vortec truck only got 15 or so, so im not down much, and the power difference is worth the loss in milage.

I am guessing a crew cab weighs about the same as my Yukon XL (5200+), but maybe I am wrong.
it weighs 6300#
