Id have to get atleast half a mile down the road before IATs would drop enough to get my timing back whereas his was instant almost running an open element filter. I havent had the time to expirement and see just how much timing and heat you can get away with before getting knock but I think people make too big of a deal out of the open vs closed debate. Especially if you dont have tuning software to tinker with.

If youre going to close off the box and run a ram air tube from the grill or bumper then I can see it helping due to the ram air effect but otherwise I think youre wasting your money on a high dollar intake.

You can get an ebay heatshield with filter for 40 bucks, mandrel bent 4" tube and some couplers for under 100 bucks. Spend the money saved on other more worthwhile goodies, just my opinion/experience.
Makes a lot of sense Thanks bro

iat's on the stock box average 3 degree's above ambient.

6whp and 4ftlbs with a simple bolt on. no tune. 3 back to back runs with the stock tube, and the mit. there is a growl with the mit at wot. not at part throttle like the other cai's.

Im open loop speed density tuned and tried a 4" home made intake that 90* off the TB to where the stock Airbox was and 90* down till it touched the inner fender. i didnt notice any difference in the logs as more air flow so i dunno.
IATs were lower with the stock box cruising, WOT, and idling.
My IAT sensor is in the EGR port on the intake manifold.

Didnt notice any difference except the noise..
Now that i ran it with the intake and muffler at the track, next time i go im goin to run it again with the stock intake and stock muffler on it. that should tell something.
