FWIW, I had NO LUCK with M1 5w30 in one of my older 4.3 motors. Burned a quart every 4K, with 98K miles on the clock.
It was used in the truck from quite early on in it's life.

m1 5w30 is whats been in my truck for 60k miles, i have never had a oil annlysis done but it dosent burn oil between the 3500 to 4000mile oil changes, i'm not that easy on my truck to, talk about over 200 passes down the quarter and countless street races..
where is a place i can get a analysis done at? i'm curious to see how its treating my engine..

I've been using Neo Synthetic 0w-5 race oil in my Z28 since the day I bought it. I've not had any oil consumption issue; no piston slap or any other of the stuff that you so often hear of. Because it has a real high flash point, it doesn't burn as easy as your typical passenger car oils. I also live in Texas, and I've had no temperature related concerns either. The only down side to some, would be its' $9.95 qt price tag, but that's not a problem for me though. You would have no problems going with the 0w-20 oil. It wouldn't hurt a thing. Synthetics are immune from alot of the problems that plague the regular petroleum oils.

I've used M1 5-30 in my 93 Civic since first oil chg...has 202k now...still runs like it always has as far as I can tell...used it in a 305 Chevy van for 125k...same good results...used in a 78 Chevy 250 for awhile but it used or lost a qt about every 2 weeks(5w-20) and I went back to regular stuff.
Is Mobil saying that 0-30 is better at everything than there other syn weights? If so, then I guess it's the best to use...if not, I would only use it,for sure, over the others if I lived in a cold-winter state. The 15-50 is supposed be for diesels and turbo,I think. I'm not sure about all the particulars...seems like the 10-40 would be better for down here.
