Angry modded truck vs. stock tahoe

My dad had my truck out today and did a couple stopwatched 0-60 run and when I got home he said, "Guess what the truck ran 0-60" I told him I didn't know, and he told me 9.47 seconds 0-60! I drove it with my dad in the truck and the best out of 3 runs was 9.50! This was my truck with mods below and stock pcm. Needless to say I am daggum near heartbroken.

As a comparison, we ran my mom's 02 STOCK 5.3L Tahoe and it ran a best of 9.30! All I have to say is OMG!

We also ran my never rebuilt 250K mile 92 350 rcsb truck with just headers and exhaust and it ran a little above 9 flat!

Then we took our 94 jeep cherokee and it ran like an 8.7 0-60 with a sloppy tranny.

I think I'm gonna get the tune, and if it doesn't really pep it up --- I'm taking like bringing me around to 7.5-7.8 0-60 I'm gonna give up my dream of a fast truck. I mean, cam, intake, headers, no cats, exhaust, vette servo. Relatively minor mods, but I can't even beat a stock fully loaded tahoe thats fat as a cow!!!

Thanks for hearing me complain. I just got a little disappointed considering all the time and money I've put in my truck.

that seems really bad, I think I would cry. I just don't see how the stock Tahoe can have a better 0-60

I want to also. WTF is up. I mean... It is impossible for the truck not to have something wrong with it. I am jsut so disappointed right now. I'm thinking about forgeting the tune, forgeting the nitrous and all the other crap I planned, and just selling this slow thing and buying a truck and keeping it completely stock. I don't even think I wanna be a "trucknut" anymore.

I think a tune would really help you will your mods.. Same thing happened to me last Thursday night when I ran my truck at the track with my mods and it was VERY disapointing. Glad I didnt install the headers yet so im sending them back.

don't just give up. I took my slow 4.8 from a 16.5 to a 15.9 to a 15.4 and now a 15.1. I just had to learn the hard way what mods kill low end and what mods help low end. With the right tune on a truck it will run great. I almost said to hell with my truck as well then my westers 93/100 dual hot tune changed all that for me.

Well last year I ran a best of 16.06@84mph in April.a best of 16.57@83.66 the other night. I did go from 265 to 285 size tires so I think thats what is slowing me . Not really gonna give up just decided the headers arnt woth the money right now. Im gonna get a dyno tune with my programmer and wait till winter and see if the cold air can help me.

what headers did you buy? Headers help out alot if you ask me. I have the edelbrock shortties and that even helped. I would put the headers on and see what you think, I even gained about 1 MPG with mine.

Help - how much?

I'ld LOVE to believe that the truck got beat by a stock tahoe b/c it is thrown so out of tune by the cam and stuff. I'ld to to think that, but then again. I ran a 9.47 0-60 and I was thinking I could be around 7-7.5 (thats with wishful thinking). I mean... my old truck with less mods and 250,000 miles friging outruns my new one to 60. So I almost wanna say forget it and sell it.
