modded truck vs. stock tahoe

I'm not so sure. Even if I got a tune and say, knocked a second off 0-60 (which is the MOST I really expect) than that means I'll only be doing about 8.5 0-60.... barely faster than our stock 94 318ci jeep.

I have already decided to not waste money, time, and energy on performance mods on this 4.8. I am still planning on some exterior stuff though. I will wait on the performance until I get another truck like a VHO or a "fast" car.

I bet if you would test each of those vehicles in the 1/8th mile then the 1/4mile you'd be suprised to see how much faster your GM is.
Like I said, you should buy a performance meter and test all the cars. I bet it'll be the best $150 you ever spent LOL Besides, it will teach you ho to launch better and what shift points are better etc.

Thanks for the post man.
It's just say a stock Z28 runs what, 6 sec flat 0-60? So I weigh another thousand pounds (if that) and have a little less power, but take 55% longer to get to 60? Maybe we should have wound them all up to higher speeds and longer distances, but the police station is just a bit down the road so we didn't want to get too crazy.
Everyone pray that my tune will shave 2 seconds off my 0-60 so I will remain a gearhead for life. If not, I'm gonna buy a civic and put a wing and some 20s on it.

That's never going to happen.... but I will sell my truck and either buy a stock one (and just cut my losses here) or sell it and buy a grand am or something like that. At the very least, I will say forget the performance, get a quiet muffler and some pipes welded on, and and get a retune for 87 octance.
So hopefully this hot tune I'm gonna get is really gonna bring it together. Some spray would give me some nice gains, but hey, this truck is probobly messed up anyway.
