You won't get your best fuel mileage until at least 10,000 miles. In the winter your mileage will drop 2-3 mpg due to winter fuel being formulated for easier cold weather starting, not optimal mileage. The best I have ever got was 19.5mpg once but I have a big truck and run 75-80 mph on the freeway.I see a consistent 15-16mpg in town.

Yah, I'm sure the truck will make 20 mph next summer with summer diesel fuel and a good 15k on the engine. It does seem to me like the 285/75 BFG MTs decreased fuel economy slightly as I expected, but some people have reported improved fuel economy with larger than stock tires.
