oh im hooked in good with my local dealorship i know most of the service managers, parts managers and alot of the mechanics. i purchased my truck from one of the parts managers so i never run out of warranty i just need something to give them so they can get me the hook up without getting in trouble. thanks for the help

Just found the cluster, and it's a no-go for me. I would have to trade my tranny temp gauge for an idiot light in order to get the 140 mph speedo....forget that! I use that gauge much more often than I go over 120 mph....especially since CHP just announced today that they're cracking down hard on speeders.

It would be nice to have both though, 140 mph and tranny temp gauge!

So, does the police edition alternator connect up the same?

I just checked and no, it does not. The stock alternator has a four-conductor connector using three wires, and the police alternator has only a two-conductor connector. I'll have to do some more research and get back to you on if this can be done or not.

I am not sure what all the wires do but on my conversion I used the stock alternator and had to hook up only one wire with a light in it to "excite" or turn on the alternator the other 3 are just not hooked up...
