2002 5.3 Avalanche ~400ohms

2004 Silverado SS ~800ohms.

The wires look identical.

FWIW: MSD 8.5's or Talor TV50's ~25-40ohms.
MSD 8.5's have 40 ohms per foot of winding they have around 40 feet of winding per foot of plug. Which means they have around 1500 ohms of total resistance. This is clearly stated here:

At the very top there, "In a single 12" piece of MSD wire, there is only 40-50ohms of resistance".

I see what you're saying, but I think that above rating is in actual finished-product wire.

The wires I have here probably have about 8" of wire - so the 25-40ohms I measured seems pretty accurate...

The 40 ohms per foot is per foot of plug wire as marc_w states. If you put a ohmmeter on the wire you will find this to be true. What I have found in the past when I have tested the MSD wires (and I have tested every wire I have bought) is an average reading of 37-38 ohms per foot of plug wire.

Quoted from the website "In a single 12 inch length of super conductor wire, there is only 40-50 ohms of resistance.....This special conductor is wound extremely tight around a special center core. So tight in fact that there is over 40 feet of conductor per foot of plug wire"
hmmm, sounds to me like there actually is 40 feet of this 40 ohm per foot conductor in a single foot of plug wire. Therefore in an 8in piece of plug wire there is between 1067ohms and 1333ohms of resistance.
40ohms/foot*40feet*(8in/12in)=1067
50ohms/foot*40feet*(8in/12in)=1333
If you don't believe me, you can call msd directly and ask them what the total resistance is on product number 32823
Their number is 915-855-7123
I am sure they will concur. They word it funny so people will think "wow, there is only 40 ohms of total resistance that is amazing, I should buy some of these", when in fact they are not much better than stock, if better at all.
