Default Motor/Tranny Swap Under Way!!!

After 2 1/2 years, it's finally time to put the new motor/tranny in. I'm gonna post pics and progress, that way if I'm doing something wrong, somebody can help me out! I get off work in about 3 hours and I'm gonna start getting some stuff done early.

This is what I plan on having done this morning:

-Remove motor oil & tranny fluid
-Drain Coolant system
-Disconnect Battery
-Remove K&N FIPK/MAFS
-Remove belt/power steering pulley
-Unbolt the ac and power steering
-Remove Radiator/Hoses
-Remove Accessory bracket
-Unbolt Headers
-Remove driver side header/4ft of piping behind header (I had a flange put in)
-Label and disconnect wiring going to intake manifold
-Disconnect Fuel line on manifold
-Hopefully remove intake manifold

Few quick questions:
-When disconnecting the fuel lines, the tool says to relieve pressure first. Can this be done by disconnecting the fuel filter?
-The SA design book says to use a radiator hook tool for the radiator hose, wiring clips and connectors. What do ya'll use? Part #?

Thanks Guys!

Hey guys, how the hell do you get the power steering pump off? It keeps turning and there isn't anything on the back for a wrench, it's round.

I'll post some pics up a little later of my slow progress.

you don't, just remove the entire alternator/ powersteering pump bracket as an assembly, leave the lines attached to the PS pump and just lay it to the side against the PCM and it'll be out of the way

the a/c is the same way, just unbolt it and let tuck it to the side

I'd leave it all on the bracket. Thats how we did mine and it made it alot easier than trying to remove everything part by part.

Thats what I'm trying to use. Everytime I turn the socket wrench, it the whole thing spins. I can't figure out how to stop the pulley from spinning.

I've got the puller on there, that was easy. But as you can see it just spins.

Might I ask... "What are you swapping to?"

I'm assuming you're upgrading from an LS1 to maybe a 6.0L, but that's just taking a shot in the dark.

Just pull the entire bracket off and lay it to the side. There are 3 or4 4 bolts that hold the bracket to the motor.
