Barely noticeable at idle speeds...at about 3000 rpms it gets a little loud, but nowhere near as loud as my bros...no drone at all at hwy speeds unless you get up to about 78 mph...
We need vids ASAP.

It sounds good at idle and not horrible cruising. But any acceleration and its crazy loud and annoying.

So what I'm curious what are y'all running with this type setup? Is there anything that will keep an open idle sound so you can still really here the cam
But not make you deaf when driving?
Go with Magnaflow 3.5, 22x5x11, good at idle, cruising, highway speeds and louder at wide open throttle. Its what I have and love it.

What is your header and y pipe setup?

I have long tubes and Offroad y pipe.

Wish it had a louder idle to really exaggerate the cam

An oval muffler is going to be installed this week for sure. What style is what I'm not sure about. Either an straight through or possible something similar to what a flowmaster is. And I'm
Going to have the exhaust exit the truck instead of dumping before the axle.

I'm not sure what's loud to you but i have a 4" from about 6" from the y pipe.. its really deep and mellow. Its a magnaflow catback from a duramax. My dad did a 5" with dpf delete and gave it to me.
I figured why not try it out. I love it.

It's not as much loud as it is my setup pops and sounds like an old farm truck under 1/2 throttle.

I just want it clean sounding. Sound level isn't as much an issue. It's a Prerunner show truck. It needs to sound loud.

put a small pair of mufflers in the y pipe before the y part of the y pipe.

2 small mufflers loses less power than 1 big muffler.

I write lots of great articles regarding exhaust systems. GM stuff is easy.

Do a google search for, "how a properly built exhaust system works" and google search "BAmufflers".

Is it typical for one round muffler to pop and crackle when your accelerating?

Looking at the welds they did going from 3.5 to 3" at the y pipe I wonder if its leaking pretty bad. Would that make it pop? I can understand popping under deceleration but not acceleration.

Stainless works makes an 3.5" s tube muffler they use on the ford eco boost. The s tube sound great on my new camaro. Really considering trying it on my truck.

I have heard the SW S-Tube mufflers on a friends CTS-V (LT's/cats) and they sound mean as hell...would be very loud at WOT without cats.

Nice work in link below with many videos of various installs....some true dual setups with other brand mufflers installed as well.
