I have the Magnaflow that you're describing: single 3" in/out, with a single 3" exit and 4" tip. Before the SuperMaxx headers, it was only slightly louder than stock at idle. The headers have a stronger exhaust pulse that makes the sound at idle a little more noticeable. I like it!

I have a 1chamber Flow and a Magnaflow. I swtich between them since it is a simple flange right after the turbo.

IMO it feels like the Flow is too restrictive and I lose power. Also the interior noise is MUCH worse than the Magnaflow and actually worse than no muffler at all. Resonance is a bitch!

I generally just run around with the Magnaflow now or with nothing at all.

Here is a clip with the Magnaflow N/A with my 226 cam. You can only really hear me for the first 60' or so, Then my buddies nasty exhaust takes over LOL

Yup, my turbo is my favorite muffler

When I want tons of bark AND bite I just take the magnaflow off.

My roomate has an older 89' BMW with the spintech and it sounds pretty clean.
