Well, I want more performance then sound however, I don't loud, rappy, popping. I would like a throaty nice chrip sound that is deep, lets my cam talk a little, and has little to no drone. I would like a healthy/growling such as Naked AV described it or throaty such as I have described it. I have a Edelbrock Cat-back right now, I love the deep idle but when it revs it just sounds deep, no growling at all...of course...could be the two 2 1/2 into one, high flow cat, and one muffler that is 22" long.

I vote for hooker aerochambers, that is what I am running on my truck and i am pleased with the sound. I am running dual 3in all the way back with 2 aerochambers stacked side by side.

You can hear the cam talk through the Hookers. Take my word for that one.

I'm running a little more cam than more though.

Dont get Corsa then.

I got the Borla because its good ****, stainless AND the tone. I almost got Corsa but I did not want a chambered muffler. That and I see WAY too many of their kits returned for baffles broken loose and rattling in the muffler. Im not paying out the *** for that crap.

IMO ITS ALL OVER PRICED!! Its just up to you where you wanna but it from.

Ok I hear bad things about flowmasters every day here and I dont like posting in these threads cause well, I've went through 3 magnaflows that were mildly loud, not bad but I didnt like the sound. I've had aero's and they were sweet but again not the right sound. I've even had do I dare say cherry bomb glasspacks those were rediculously loud and obnoxious liked it but not the 125$ ticket for being too loud.

My 97 wt had a 4.3 with edelbrock ypipe header system, no cat and a Flowmaster 40series that I got for 70bucks at autozone, ok 72.91 with tax. It cost about 50 bucks to put on and bend a pipe and put on a tip that dumps in front the rear right wheel.

When I started it I had never heard anything that nice before. Alot of people say that they dont flow worht a sh*t. I disagree completely. I might not have a v8 or an LSx motor but with this setup I felt a difference. I love the sound and because I had 3.42 gears it shifted about 2000-2250rpm and was never too loud. Not raspy not obnoxious and sounded awesome at WOT actually I hear about 60%motor and 40%muffler at WOT.

So really and truely it is up to YOU not someone else what you think is best for you app. Maybe a magnaflow will flow more but they might not be what you're looking for and such was MY case. I love flowmasters and unless I go with straight pipes i.e. no mufflers, I'll never own anything different.

They dont flow for ****. Theres many, many, many threads on here of ACTUAL tests on a Flow bench. And guess where the Flowmasters are. Way down at rock bottom. Theres tons of better mufflers than Flowmasters. Tons. I had 40's on my truck and low end was ****. I switched over to a Borla cat-back because I got it cheap and wow I got my low end grunt back.

That's some good info...I wish Gibson was on that list so I'd have something to compare to when I make my muffler selection (I wanna be able to hear mine). I think it's neat how some mufflers will be louder than others at idle, but quieter at WOT, and vise-versa...more things to consider
