Muffler size 3" or 4" suggestion
Well Im finally getting ready to add a exhaust to the truck. I cant afford a Corsa Touring muffler, so my choice comes down to Magnaflow. As I have ran them before. I was thinking 2 choices:
1: 3" Magnaflow 34" Case length, dumped about 1 foot after And Maybe ran thru the stock piping.
2: 4" Magnaflow 30" Case length, dumped about 1 foot after the muffler. Its a diesel muffler.
I have LPP long tubes and ORY (catless). The collector is 3" and I was thinking to get the shop to expand that to a 4" and use the 4" diesel muffler, and purchase 1 or 2 feet of 4" pipe, to dump it right after.
I never used a diesel muffler in a gas application. So I dont know what it will sound like. But Im ready to complete my exhaust before the retune.
I should also note I have plenty plans for this setup. 243 heads, fast intake, or procharger, custom grind cam. The future awaits these things, so I can move what budget allows at a time.
Currently everything from my ORY is connected to the stock muffler and piping with all the bends. Im about to free up this exhaust some more. As Im leaning more to mid-top power.
Specs are in the sig, and Im not too concern with loss of bottom end. Mostly not wanting to choke mid to top.

Yea. More flow the 6.0 likes. The LPP ORY pipe is 3" so I'll put the 4" muffler 30" case with a turn down. That should be very free flowing, and ready for future mods. Can't wait to remove the stock piping.

well looks like 4" muffler be welded up when I swap the trans. Im hoping not to loose any bottom end, as I have 4.88s and 4k stall. Letting the dragon breathe may help substantially, and if I can be quiet that will be great.
I dont know if I should add a resonator right after the muffler, then dump it after that>? Still want my truck to be stealth, but grumble deep when on it, plus hwy rpms will be around 2.5-3.3 K-ish so I want something that is mellow quiet, and will RING @ or over 4K!

What's the best sounding 4" muffler yall have heard. I just went to 4 inch and its a round straight through muffler and sounds like crap and is loud. Looking to try a different brand muffler.
