Default mufflers and headers??

I was originally planning on gettin the Thorley headers for the SS, mainly because of cost and they are smog legal. but how do these really compare to the ASMs?? also what about the other guys headers? i noticed that they are legal as well. what do you guys think??

also im gonna run true dual on this truck, i am kinda interested in spin tech mufflers. has anyone used them and/or recommended them. or is there another brand that anyone would recommend over them. im definately looking for performance with this truck <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

thanks

i saw where spintech has a true dual system for our trucks and also comes with an x-pipe and exits out in front of rear tires, you might want to check that out, I have spintech pro street mufflers and they sound sweet.

ASM headers are longtube and give proven results in midrange and high rpm proformance.Thorley headers are tri-wyes which traditionally boost lowend and midrange proformance.ASM claims 22hp and 25lb/ft of torque.I have ASM on my Tahoe and the proformance increase is quite noticable.

I've heard that a few of the ASM have rusted. I am going to go with a set of The Other Guys. They have an unlimited milage warranty and good for any power adder.

They are just a tad shorter than the ASM ones too.

I've had my ASM's on a couple of trucks and never had a problem with rust until this truck. It's only because it sits up alot(bought in early Oct. of 2001 and turned 7000 miles on the way home from the track this past Fri. night)
